Maveris prides itself on its commitment to hiring exceptional people. With that, our commitment to hiring Veterans has been recognized through the HIRE Vets Medallion Program. This program, established by the Secretary of Labor, was founded to recognize employers who recruit, employee and retain Veterans. This is the fifth year we have been recognized at the Platinum Award level by this program.
With Maveris’s growth over the past year, we have graduated to the medium size standard for the program, which has even more stringent requirements. Even still, Maveris’s commitment to hiring Veterans allowed us to surpass these expectations. This year, only 153 employers across the United States qualified for this award as a Medium employer. To qualify for this award, a medium business (51-499 team members) must meet the following criteria:
- A minimum of 10% of new hires are Veterans or
- At least 85% of Veterans hired remained with the company and
- At least 10% of the overall company is made up of Veterans
As a Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), we pride ourselves in our employment and retention rates across the company, but are specifically proud of our dedication to hiring and retaining Veterans as recognized by this program and award.
Less than 1% of the US population makes the commitment to serve in one of our military branches. This decision, by a select few to give of themselves in dedication and service to our country, should be admired and revered. They are choosing to be the frontline of protection. We at Maveris believe it to be our duty to provide them the support and opportunities they need to continue to thrive after service, in a civilian role, as we collectively serve our customers. This service is often the most profound when they are able to serve their brothers and sisters receiving care as we support the Department of Veteran Affairs.
