The Maveris Selfie is a means for us to recognize the awesome team members we have and highlight their dedication to our customers and the team. Team members are nominated for a selfie by their team lead, their coworker, or any other team member who would like to showcase who they are and what they bring to the team.
For this selfie, we are happy to introduce Christi Puffinburger!
Hi Christi! Can you start with an introduction of yourself and what you do at Maveris?
Hi I’m Christi! I joined Maveris in 2019 and am currently on the PARS contract with the High Value Asset (HVA) Project Management Office (PMO) team. I enjoy the outdoors, satiating my natural curiosity by investigating/documenting various insects (primarily large moths and other lepidoptera.) I have two dogs who are my kids, and also four cats. I am a forever learner, and am currently enrolled at Capella University to obtain my Doctorate in Information Technology.
What event in your life so far has impacted who you are the most?
I’d have to say being able to educate adults about insects and spiders. Each summer I have an opportunity to teach a local course about insects and spiders found in West Virginia. Sometimes I’ve run into previous students who have told me I’ve changed their entire outlook on insects, and that they no longer harm them. Knowledge is key!
What is your go-to comfort food?
Hands down, Pizza Hut stuffed crust with extra cheese and wings (with ranch of course because ranch is life). There’s just something so nostalgic about the taste of the stuffed crust, even if it isn’t the absolute best pizza on earth, that comforts my soul. Who else remembers the excitement of Book-It?
What movie do you wish you could watch again for the first time?
Inception. It has been, and will always be, one of my favorite films. I still ponder the ending and often wonder if Cobb was dreaming or not. The concept of having a dream within a dream (within a dream) is quite surreal. The cinematography in that movie is also elite.
What is your most irrational fear?
I suppose it has something to do with control, but nothing makes me more antsy than being a passenger in a vehicle, especially on the interstate. There are too many variables to consider that could cause an accident, and it’s impossible for me to relax and “enjoy the ride.”
How is Maveris different from your previous employers?
I’ve worked for several contracting companies, but Maveris is truly the best company I’ve ever worked for. They really care about their employees and create a fun working environment! The talent is top-notch and I love the feeling of a tight-knit community that Maveris has to offer.
The team member who nominated Christi for a Maveris Selfie shared the following about her.
She keeps the team on track through her knowledge and use of automation and collaboration tools, policy analysis and interpretation, and she has a great analytical way of looking at a problem to drive an innovative and fantastic solution. She has some pretty fascinating hobbies…which require a whole different type of intelligence unrelated to cybersecurity policy. Christi is a great friend and an awesome part of the Maveris family.
