For this selfie, we are happy to introduce Robyn Newport!
Hi Robyn! Can you start with an introduction of yourself and what you do at Maveris?
I am Robyn – I’m originally from Northern Virginia but recently relocated to Charlotte, North Carolina. I have a dog named Kobe, a Border Collie mix that is full of life and brings me so much joy. I joined Maveris in October 2023 as a Cyber Policy Specialist for the Data Loss Prevention team. My role consists of assisting in implementing new processes, which may involve training staff, documenting procedures, managing resistance to change, and regularly reviewing processes and practices to identify opportunities for improvement. In addition, I coordinate with the project team to ensure that tasks are completed on time. I take pride in helping my team in every way possible to meet all expectations and project goals. I always strive to do my absolute best and go above and beyond within my role.
What behavior or personality trait do you most attribute to your success, and why?
Discipline is a crucial trait that contributes to my success. I have always been able to set goals, plan, and stick to them, no matter what. This trait has helped me stay focused, ensuring I meet my goals and deliver high-quality work.
What is something you are proud of from your professional career?
I have recently completed my MBA program and obtained the Certified ScrumMaster Certification. I am most proud that I have achieved two of my long-term goals.
What advice would you give the 15-year-old you?
Believe in Yourself: You are capable of more than you think. Believe in your abilities, and do not let fear of failure hold you back. In addition, Do Not Be Afraid to Make Mistakes: Mistakes are a part of life and learning. Do not be afraid to try new things and fail. It is often from our failures that we learn the most.
Which historical figure would you most like to meet?
Meeting Harriet Tubman would provide an opportunity to gain experience firsthand about her experiences, insights, and the motivations behind her tireless fight for freedom and equality. It would be a chance to gain a deeper understanding of a pivotal historical time from someone who significantly shaped it.
What is a characteristic you look for in a team?
Collaboration: Team members who work together, share ideas, and support each other to achieve common goals. In addition, Diversity: Teams that include people with different skills, ethnic backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives can be more innovative and effective at problem-solving.

Robyn has been an invaluable asset to the DLP program since its inception, consistently showcasing dedication and proactive engagement in all assigned tasks. Her willingness to offer assistance across various areas is commendable, demonstrating her commitment to the team’s success. Currently, she is playing a pivotal role in [her] project, effectively coordinating efforts and ensuring seamless execution. Additionally, Robyn has taken on the responsibility of managing our document review and quality control process with exceptional competence and attention to detail. Her recent completion of an MBA and attainment of a Certified Scrum Master Certification further exemplify her commitment to professional growth and excellence.
